My friend gave me some red eggs , which is hard-boiled egg dyed red, after Bai Ti Gong at her house..
The next morning, I took out one egg, remove the shell, leave it to heat in microwave oven for 2 mins, medium heat while i went bathe...
After bathing, i opened the door of the oven
TADAH!!
Egg explosion!!
I wonder y it happened~ i tot egg wil explode only when it s heated from raw to cooked, with shell~
Can any1 tells me y??

Water inside the egg, mostly in the white albumen, vaporises - even as the albumen solidifies. If the pressure inside the egg exceeds the breaking strength of the shell, the egg explodes. That's why you should poke a whole egg many times if you are going to microwave it.
It's the same for water.
Do remember to put a spoon in the water if you are going to boil water using microwave..HAha.
The point here is, there is no shell!!
I have already removed the egg shell bcos i knew it may explode if the shell s remained~
now i really still wonder y it exploded =.=
